I have seen the white ones and the shadowy black ones here. North shore of Lake Ontario, Canada. RioSurfer January 26, 2018 @ 4:30 pm the reflections of light in that guys hand are bogus.. they are letters, two sets. The first set appears to say BAL. I’ve seen complex variants of the seal of saturn drawn in ‘contrails’ over the bay area in california more than a few times. One obfuscation used is to draw it out such that it covers a larger field of view for those on the ground than we can really make sense of. A cell phone’s camera usually has a fairly large field of view, collapsed to a small screen. If the, uh, ‘contrails’ look a bit strange to you one day, use your phone’s camera to preview them, you might get a real surprise (I wont ruin it for you, but share on here somewhere.. it might be something new). If possible, set your accessibility mode to color invert the display before using the camera’s preview (you can also color invert the pics after you take them, it’s just much easier to see stuff realtime in the preview screen with color inversion). Also note that whatever you see is probably flipped left-to-right or upside down, as it appears to be intended for something that sees backwards, or sees from above the clouds…. On my stupid iphone I’ve set triple-click to turn color inversion on and off.. possibly the most useful thing I carry around, you never know when you’ll need to see things “backwards”.. billboards, posters, shop displays.. any printed graphics that get lots of views may have.. uh. ‘extra features’.
